Product overview

HD3840UA is a polyethylene grade for rotational molding of large hollow parts such as tanks and industrial containers. Confirm impact performance, processing behaviour and outdoor durability against the actual application and current technical datasheet.

Introduction to HD3840UA

1

HD3840UA is a butene-based linear copolymer polyethylene designed for rotational molding applications, combining medium-to-high density with excellent flow characteristics.

2

This grade offers high impact resistance, superior environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR), and stable mechanical properties for demanding industrial and outdoor applications.

3

The UA stabilizer package includes antioxidants and UV light stabilizers (UV8), making it suitable for long-term outdoor exposure.

Applications

01

Storage Tanks

Ideal for producing roto-molded water tanks, septic tanks, and chemical storage containers due to excellent impact strength and UV stability.

02

Containers & Industrial Bins

Suitable for drums, material handling bins, bulk containers, and transportation containers.

03

Recreational & Outdoor Products

Used to manufacture kayaks, portable cabins, playground slides, and outdoor recreational components.

04

Molded Parts

Applicable for certain injection-molded components, technical parts, and industrial caps requiring medium-density PE.

Production Processes

01

Rotational Molding Process

3840UA powder is loaded into hollow molds, heated, and rotated around multiple axes allowing the polymer to melt, coat the mold walls uniformly, and form seamless hollow structures.

02

Cooling & Solidification

After uniform melting, the mold is cooled gradually to maintain dimensional stability, minimize shrinkage, and enhance impact resistance.

03

Demolding

Parts are carefully removed from the mold, resulting in smooth internal and external surfaces with excellent finish and strength.
